Air France the big European player recently launched flights to
Panama City. One of the biggest commercial carriers of Europe commenced
service between Paris and Panama City. The new route between the city
pair will give passengers a chance to fly between Paris Charles de
Gaulle and Tocumen International Airport.
These flights will operate on thrice-a-week basis. The airline will use
the services of Boeing 777-200 on the route. This aircraft is equipped
with a seating capacity across three classes. It comprises an overall
capacity for 309 seats. Of these 309 seats, 35 belong to business class
passengers, 24 are included in premium economy class, and 250 belong to
economy class passengers.
As per the schedule, flights will depart Paris every Monday, Thursday,
and Saturday at 1:30 pm and arrive in Panama City at 6:30 pm, local
time. Return flights will depart Panama City at 10:00 pm and arrive in
Paris at 12:10, the next day.
The airline believes Panama is a growing market and there is huge
potential on the route. According to Frederic Gagey, Chairman and CEO of
Air France the airline is looking to tap the economically developing
markets and the launch of Panama City service is a testimony to the
fact. With this service, the airline is strengthening its hold in the
Central and South American and the Caribbean markets.
