Before the economic recession hit the world, shattering a million
dreams, Erie enjoyed a well-connected air network with several cities
within the United States. Four primary airlines operated service to and
from the city to destinations like Cleveland, Detroit, Philadelphia,
Pittsburgh, Cincinnati, and Atlanta. The scenario however, changed
completely after the global economy was left crippled by the economic
slowdown. Eight years after the devastating situation, Erie has
something to cheer about in the coming times.
United Airlines has announced the launch of its nonstop service between
its hub in Chicago and Erie. The new flights are set to debut on June 5
this year. This news has spread a wave of joy amongst the travelers who
have waited patiently all these years to relish smooth connections from
their city to other important destinations across the country.
Travelers will soon be able to fly between Erie International Airport
and Chicago's O'Hare International Airport. This service will
considerably offer smooth connections and reduce the travel time
otherwise taken to fly between the city pair.
Direct connections from here to Chicago will also boost the prospects of
local business in the city. Nonstop flights are an added advantage when
it comes to commercial and financial aspects. The city of Erie is sure
to benefit from this service and the people cannot stop thanking the
airline enough for its initiative.
Chicago is a popular world city and offers flights to other gateways
across the country and the world. Apart from other airlines, United
Airlines alone provides 600 daily flights from the city to various parts
of the world thus paving way for smoother connections ahead.
