Yeager Airport officials have expressed happiness at the return of low-cost Spirit Airlines flights to Myrtle Beach. The officials hoped that with the flight services being resumed again, the airline would be bringing more low-cost travel options to this region.
Media reports said that Spirit Airlines has decided to resume the twice weekly flights between Charleston and Myrtle Beach from March 2, 2013. The services would operate on Wednesdays and Saturdays. This will be the second year when the airline will be operating the low-cost service between the two destinations.
Spirit Airlines had started flight services to Myrtle Beach with the sole intention to operate only in the summer. However, after seeing success on Charleston-Myrtle Beach route the airline decided to extend the service through November last year. The airline has now indicated that it is advancing the start of the services this year and has pushed back the start date from May to March.
