Some of the prestigious events coming up include:

Mobile World Congress

Attracting 100,000 attendees, Mobile World Congress is the world's largest exhibition for the mobile industry. February 24-26, 2020, the city will play host to the biggest electronics companies and telecoms in the world launching new products and discuss the latest trends in mobile.

Bleisure Time in Barcelona

Although networking, keynotes, and walking the exhibition halls can take up a lot of time, it’s worth setting aside some bleisure time for yourself in Barcelona. Here are a few of our suggestions.

Museums

There are about 55 museums in Barcelona. The two important museums that must be visited in Barcelona are The National Museum of Art of Catalonia which houses one of the greatest repositories of Romanesque, Gothic and Renaissance religious works in the world. Take the stairs or elevators to the top and for an awesome view of the city.

Art lovers flock to the Picasso Museum to see the range of Picasso's evolution and work from his early days to the modern master we all know today. Make sure to get tickets in advance online to avoid the queues.

Gaudi’s City

Architect Antonio Gaudi designed many distinctive buildings in Barcelona in the naturalistic Art Nouveau style. The still to be completed Sagrada Familia is one of the most visited sites in Barcelona. The church has been under construction for over 100 years and is slated to finally be completed in 2030. From mid-morning to late afternoon, the sun streams through the stained glass, so try to get away from business to visit.

Eating is Life

Barcelona’s proximity to the Mediterranean has made it famous for being the “Capital of Mediterranean Diet”. If you’re a vegetarian or simply like fresh greens, you will be happy that in the land of pata negra ham and Catalan cheese, there are plenty to be found.

The city is home to great restaurants and the most popular gastronomy havens are El Born, Eixample, and Sant Antoni. They are all trendy neighborhoods with tree-lined streets, historic examples of beautiful Catalan architecture, and designer boutiques.

Night Life

Head to the beach and the most well-known club in town, Opium. Make sure you dress the part though, for this is the place to be seen. It’s an exclusive venue and very posh. Head to outside area overlooking the beach to escape the noise.

If you don’t want to wear a suit or cocktail dress, but still want a posh experience, head to one of the mixology bars in the city. Dr. Stravinsky’s cocktails, made by modern alchemists, have won international awards by mixing science with cocktail mixology.

PAX49 in the El Born neighborhood has affordable cocktails made with fresh “super food” ingredients for a tasty and beautiful adult refreshment. Make sure to stop in to the Gothic style Santa Catarina Cathedral while in the area.
