Muscat flagship carrier Oman Air will resume its flight service to the African island, Zanzibar from 16th May 2011. The airline also announced the launch of a new flight service between Salalah and Dubai on 4th May 2011.
The airline will operate two flights a week between Salalah and Dubai on Wednesday and Saturday and thrice weekly service on Mondays, Tuesdays and Saturdays between Muscat and Zanzibar.
The decision to resume and introduce the new flight service follows the signing of the codeshare agreement between Oman Air and UK’s BMI airline. As there is no direct, nonstop flight between UK and Zanzibar, the new agreement will facilitate the travelers to book air tickets from BMI’s UK departure points and travel to Muscat.
