Leading discount carrier EasyJet recently unveiled its new carry-on baggage policy. EasyJet, which is known to provide cheap tickets to its customers, is bracing to implement its ‘guaranteed’ cabin baggage allowance from July this year.
The new ‘guaranteed’ cabin baggage allowance is 37 percent below the maximum size permitted. Currently, the airline allows its customers to carry a baggage along with them on board their flights in the maximum size of 56cm by 45cm by 25cm – a total of 63 liters per bag.
EasyJet has, however, changed the policy now and would allow the passengers to carry a baggage along with them on board their flights in the maximum size of 50cm by 40cm by 20cm – including handles, pockets and wheels – to a total of just 40 liters.
The airline will be implementing the 'guaranteed' cabin baggage allowance from July 2, 2013. EasyJet is implementing the new policy so that the passengers’ baggage fits in the cabin. Previously, the airline wasn’t able to fit the passengers’ luggage in the cabin as it came into various sizes.
