U.S. carriers vying for premium passengers on lucrative routes

by Richa G 3. June 2013 23:25

Media reports recently said that various U.S. carriers have vigorously stepped up competition for premium passengers traveling between New York and Los Angeles. Leading U.S. carriers like Delta Air Lines, American Airlines and United Airlines are currently in a game of brinkmanship by offering the best services hoping to lure first class and business class fliers to fly with them.

According to reports, the passengers booking business class flights are being offered lie-flat seats, pricey French wines and personal valets to whisk away from curb to gate without the hassle of queuing.

A total of five U.S. carriers are into the latest dogfight for premium customers. Apart from Delta Air Lines, American Airlines and United Airlines, other domestic carriers like JetBlue Airways and Virgin America are also in the race to attract bankers, celebrities and others to buy business class tickets with them at competitive rates.
